They're home! After two hundred thirty-seven days aboard the International Space Station, four space travelers splashed down safely in the Pacific off Los Angeles on October eighth. The crew lived and worked together in orbit for more than seven months. Their research included testing ways to produce stem cells and generate medical fluids on demand. Those are experiments, with more work ahead. But the safe return is a happy outcome we can celebrate! Before launch, astronaut Jack Hathaway described the strength of bringing different people together.
Original interview — February 8, 2026, preflight: We all have a different background, and we bring something different to the—bring something different to the adventure and to the mission. And that helps us succeed as a crew.
Now that long mission has brought the whole crew safely back to Earth. Recovery teams retrieved their spacecraft and the four crew members after splashdown. We've linked the official mission page so you can follow the science and learn more about their work. More good stories at Carpe Diem News.
