A tanker became their lifeline

Three sailors, 20-foot seas, and
help 450 miles from shore. In
February 2026, a 44-foot sailboat
was taking on water east of
Daytona Beach. An emergency beacon alerted
the Coast Guard. An aircraft found
the boat that evening, then broadcast
a call for nearby ships to
help. The tanker Radiant Pride answered. Its
crew worked with the Coast Guard
air crew to bring all three
mariners aboard. By about 2:20
on Monday morning, they were safe
in stable condition, with no injuries
reported. This is original Coast Guard
footage from that February rescue. A
working ship became a lifeline, and
strangers became the people who brought
them home.
