Carpe Diem NewsA way in, a safe return: swimmer reaches trapped sailor
I’m Bennett Blackwood.
A sailor trapped inside his boat. A rescue swimmer who found another way in. Near Coronado, California, a Coast Guard helicopter crew answered the call on October eleventh. The sailboat had run aground, and the man was trapped aboard. The swimmer tore open part of the cabin roof to reach him. This is the real Coast Guard rescue footage. Working together, the aircrew brought the man to safety. An extraordinary effort, and one very good ending. If you'd like to help, our website links to the Coast Guard Foundation.
