A coordinated rescue brings Craig Berg safely off Isle Royale

Video transcript

On a remote island in Lake Superior, a missing hiker was found alive. I'm Bennett Blackwood. On September twelfth, a Coast Guard helicopter crew helped bring seventy-year-old Craig Berg to safety from Isle Royale. Michigan State Police, Michigan's Department of Natural Resources, and the Coast Guard were part of the search and rescue effort. This is the actual Coast Guard footage of the hoist, recorded that September day. In a place with rugged terrain and limited access, finding someone is only part of the job. Getting medical help to them, and getting them off the island, takes another coordinated effort. The rescue brought search teams, aircraft, and people on the ground together around one goal: getting a missing person home. It's a reminder of the people who keep looking when a family is waiting for news. Good stories every day. Follow Carpe Diem News.
