I'm Bennett Blackwood.

From August twelfth through fifteenth, twenty twenty-six, Army hand crews supported the national wildfire response by clearing brush, building fire line, finding hot spots, and helping with cleanup. They worked under trained civilian fire leaders, adding disciplined manpower without replacing the specialists already on the ground.

Pvt. Adam Alfonsi, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry, original recorded interview: It's amazing, coming out here and making change. At the end of the day, we're helping the people that are in need, doing something about it, and making everyone smile. It means everything.

The images show a partnership built for a hard week: military crews learning a new mission, and civilian experts guiding the work. The Wildland Firefighter Foundation’s official support page is linked in our article. Good stories every day. Follow Carpe Diem News.
