In Terre Haute, Indiana, K-nine teams from Indiana Task Force One trained alongside civilian and military responders during Homeland Defender, June eighth through eleventh, twenty twenty-six. These are practice searches in a simulated disaster. The dogs and handlers worked through debris while agencies rehearsed how to coordinate. The point is to build working relationships before a call for help arrives.

The canine teams search, but rescue is a shared job. Firefighters, emergency managers, police, and other specialists bring different skills to the same response. Practicing together helps them understand who does what when minutes matter. Good stories every day. Follow Carpe Diem News.
